Making Shortbread.

We finish off a great school year with making Shortbread. Rooms 5 & 6 got together in groups and were busy measuring, mixing and cutting. The final result tasted delicious and we even had enough to share with Room 7.  Thank you to Mrs Prattley and our group of helpers.

End of Year Awards, 2014

This morning we had a special end of year assembly to recognise high achievers and those who constantly strive to succeed. I found it very hard to choose my three students but these three 5 year olds, constantly produce work which is above what is expected for their age. They have a fantastic work ethic and a positive attitude.
So it was a pleasure to be able to present these awards to them. I would also like to thank their parents who by helping them with their homework, contribute to them being such successful learners in the classroom.

Junior Camp Day

Yesterday we had a "Junior Camp Day". We started off with a walk around the Wetlands looking for clues to help us find Stanley Bear. Then we had a selection of exciting activities set up which were great fun.  Half way through our activities we stopped for a yummy sausage and juicy, then we went back to finish off our day.
Rico goes for a ride.

It was so good seeing everyone working together and the older year 3 children looking after the younger ones. Thank you to all the parent helpers who made this day possible for us.

Making Ice-cream

Today we made five minute ice-cream. We watched the liquid milk turn into solid ice-cream. It was very yummy!

First we put some ice into a big bag. Then we put some sugar, vanilla essence and milk into a small zip-lock bag. We put the small bag into the bag of ice. We had to shake it for a long time. Our hands got very cold. Mrs Trebes squirted some of us with the cold water and we screamed. Then we all had yummy ice cream to eat. By Imogen
