Lots of Junior school children in the area entered the Wallace colouring competition.
We were very excited this morning when we found out that Joe had won. He got a cheque for $200  for our school and the chance to ride in the Wallace float in the Christmas parade. We are very proud of you Joe.

Swimming

We started swimming in our nice warm pool today. It is a great way for the children to cool down in the afternoon so please remember to pack their togs and a named, dry towel everyday. Here we are enjoying our buddy reading after our swim. Everyone was so excited to be in the pool again.

Rabbits

We were very excited to see Kelly and her girls with their rabbits this morning. They were so soft and cuddly, we wanted to keep them. One was called Rascel because he was a bit naughty. We made some cool pictures of them and they are up in the classroom.

Reading Together Workshop.

READING TOGETHER WORKSHOP

Reading Together is a research-based group programme, developed in New Zealand, which helps parents and caregivers support their children’s reading at home.  It provides additional ways to assist children in becoming better readers and writers.
It consists of four workshops – each approximately 1 hour.

We are currently running a workshop for the parents of Rooms 5 & 6 children. We intend to run the programme twice a year. If you are interested in participating in one of these please contact the school office, or visit Room 5 or 6 to put your name down.

The children loved having their mums at school so that they could read with them.

Cross Country

We had an excellent day for our Cross Country. We had lots of practice over the past few weeks. Everyone ran as fast as they could and enjoyed themselves. Here are a few pictures taken on the day. It was great to see all the family members there to support the children.

Rockets with Mrs Prattley

Today we made these rockets with Mrs Prattley. It was a lot of fun. We had to follow the directions carefully to make our own rocket and a big one for the classroom.

Crazy Hats

Aiva, Laelah-Belle, Briar and Cooper
We made these crazy hats with Miss Roycroft. It was lots of fun. We had to choose pieces of material to make a nice design and then glue them carefully onto the hat. They look super cool.
