Tumble Time

We are encouraging working as a team in the classroom.  Here are some of the activities that we do at tumble time. One of our favourites is the new whiteboard table. We have competitions to see what group can write and say the most words.

Swimming

We have been swimming every afternoon. Most of the children in Room 5 and Room 6 are happy and confident in the water. We are very lucky to have Mrs Hayes in the pool with the children. She helps those who are unsure of putting their heads under the water and even after a few days we can see those children becoming more confident.
The children have been learning how to keep themselves safe in and around the pool.
Please make sure your child has their togs with them everyday.

Buddy Reading with Room 5

After a nice swim to cool us down, we are pairing up with Room 5 so that we can read to each other. We started today and it well very well. Here are some of our little people showing off their reading skills.

2015

Welcome to Room 6, 2015. We have had a very busy week settling into Room 6. We start the year with 23 children, 21 from Room 5 and Joe and Stuart who have joined us from other schools.
We will get a photo up next week.

We still have two children who have not brought their books. Please get these as soon as possible so that we can get our daily routine up and running.
Check up our new school Phone App, it will keep you up to date with events that are happening.

Making Shortbread.

We finish off a great school year with making Shortbread. Rooms 5 & 6 got together in groups and were busy measuring, mixing and cutting. The final result tasted delicious and we even had enough to share with Room 7.  Thank you to Mrs Prattley and our group of helpers.

End of Year Awards, 2014

This morning we had a special end of year assembly to recognise high achievers and those who constantly strive to succeed. I found it very hard to choose my three students but these three 5 year olds, constantly produce work which is above what is expected for their age. They have a fantastic work ethic and a positive attitude.
So it was a pleasure to be able to present these awards to them. I would also like to thank their parents who by helping them with their homework, contribute to them being such successful learners in the classroom.
Imogen, Jake and Chloe.

Junior Camp Day

Yesterday we had a "Junior Camp Day". We started off with a walk around the Wetlands looking for clues to help us find Stanley Bear. Then we had a selection of exciting activities set up which were great fun.  Half way through our activities we stopped for a yummy sausage and juicy, then we went back to finish off our day.
Rico goes for a ride.

It was so good seeing everyone working together and the older year 3 children looking after the younger ones. Thank you to all the parent helpers who made this day possible for us.

Room 6 children enjoy a ride on the canoe while others work  to get them from A to B.
