Room 6 Writing.

Look at my dad's fast car. It goes on the road when my dad goes to work at five o' clock.

Look at that circus clown juggling balls. His nose is red. He doesn't know how to climb trees.

The worm is pink, big and dirty. All of the worms are muddy and long. They keep our garden fresh and healthy.

Exploring shapes with Miss Williams

We have started to explore shapes with Miss Williams. We all got together and told her what we already know about shapes. Miss Williams thought we were very clever.
She has made lots of  interesting activities for us to learn that involve shapes. We work in our activity groups on these activities.

Minstrel visit.

We enjoyed having the minstrel visit today. His songs teach us the importance of being safe in the water and what to do when we go fishing.

Writing in Room 6.

During the last holidays I attended a Gaye Byers writing course. I have been using some of the ideas in the class. This is one of the marking ideas that I have adapted to suit the age and ability of the children in Room 6.

I saw a little hedgehog. It has some prickles on it. It has black fur.
This term we are concentrating on writing quality stories rather than quantity. So we are taking our sentences and trying to use exciting words in them. Here is some of our work.
In this classroom we are learning to do a good sentence. It is very hard work.

My toy is a transformer and it is blue. I pretend my transformer can fly in the sky in the morning.
I saw an acorn ready to eat on my big tree but a bird came down and he ate the acorn. It was a fantail.

Room 6 Teamwork.

We have new children in Room 6 this term.

They enjoy working with a buddy to see who can finish their activity first.

This is them working on some maths activities.

Lots of searching matching, counting and  skip-counting.
